A MOUSE AND A LION

A long time ago, a big Lion is sleeping under a tree. A small Mouse runs over the Lion’s face. The Lion wakes up. He is very angry! He puts his big paw on the Mouse.

"Please don't eat me!" says the Mouse. "I am sorry. One day, I will help you."

The Lion laughs. "You? You are so small! How can you help me?" But the Lion is kind, so he lets the Mouse go.

A few days later, some men catch the Lion in a big net. The Lion pulls and pulls, but he cannot get out. He roars loudly.

The small Mouse hears the Lion. He runs to help. The Mouse uses his sharp teeth to bite the net. He bites and bites until the net breaks.

The Lion is free!

"Thank you, little friend," says the Lion. "You are small, but you saved my life."
