Goldie, Our Class Fish

Our class has a special friend. It is not a student. It is a fish! Her name is Goldie. She is small and orange, and she lives in a glass tank at the back of our classroom.

Goldie's tank is near the window. There are green plants and small white stones in the water. There is also a little castle. Goldie likes to swim in and out of the castle. It is her home.

Every week, two students take care of Goldie. This week, it is my turn with my friend Nam. We feed her every morning before class. We only give her a little food. Our teacher, Ms. Hoa, says too much food is bad for fish.

On Fridays, we help Ms. Hoa clean the tank. We change some of the water. We are very careful because Goldie is small.

Goldie is a good friend. When we are sad, we watch her swim. She moves slowly and quietly, and we feel calm. When we read our books, she swims around the castle. I think she listens to our stories!

Last month, Goldie was sick for two days. She did not eat. We were very worried. Ms. Hoa called a pet shop for help. Now Goldie is healthy again, and she is very active.

We love Goldie. She is the smallest member of our class, but she is very important to us.
